Does the tenant/owner occupy the whole building?
If not, what proportion of the building is owned/tenanted
Are there any parts of the building which are shared with other tenants/owners i.e toilets, entrance halls, stairwells, lifts etc.
Are any drawings, log books and equipment manuals available for the building? ( the more information that is available the more accurate the survey will be.)
What is the building used for? i.e offices, warehouse, retail , manufacturing etc.
What form of heating is used? Are their different types of heating for different parts of the building? Please give location, type and installation date.
Does the building have mechanical ventilation and/or air conditioning systems? Please give location and type
Does the building have any of the following: Solar panels Voltaic cells Heat pump Wind turbine   If so please give location and installation date
Who will be the contact person for the surveyor and how does the surveyor contact him/her? It is preferable that if possible, this person should be familiar with the heating, airconditioning, lighting systems  and construction of the building
Are there any health and safety hazards or hazardous substances within the building?
What arrangements are there for the surveyor to sign in and out of the building and are permits to work necessary for any areas.
Are there any special features of the site and occupancy that the surveyor should be aware of
